Job description

  • Perform biomolecular interaction analyses of candidate small molecules and biomolecules (proteins and RNA) using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) including sample preparation, method optimization, data interpretation and report generation
  • Hands-on experience with membrane proteins and unstructured proteins will be an added advantage

  • Preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs), operation and maintenance of the equipment, and maintenance of inventory of reagents and the supplies

  • Look after routine instrument calibration, clean-up, maintenance, service and repairs

  • Understanding the client requirements, preparation of proposals and extend support following project delivery

  • Regularly keep-up with the latest technological advancements in the field

  • Routinely train colleagues and organizing in-house hands-on workshops

  • Adhere to the compliance set by the organization and as per the client requirements, if any

  • Demonstrate attention-to-detail and documentation of research activities

Job requirements

  • A biophysicist by training with sound knowledge of assays for studying biophysical properties of proteins such as Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Differential Scanning fluorimetry (DSF), Fluorescence Polarization (FP), Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) etc
  • Proficiency working with Thermal shift assays to measure protein’s thermal stability, identify ligands, buffer conditions, and cofactors that affect protein stability

  • Good understanding of in-silico analysis protein-protein interaction domains

  • Proficient with new assay design and associated troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated experience with unstructured proteins and membrane proteins

  • Expertise in PROTAC domain-binary, ternary complex and orthogonal binding assays

  • Sound understanding of various immobilization chemistries such as, His-capture and Biotin-capture. Immobilization of a protein (specific domain of a protein or a recombinant protein or a membrane protein extracted from a cell membrane) and RNA. Optimization of regeneration conditions

  • Candidates must be capable of excellent teamwork in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, where meeting timelines will be essential.

  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills

  • An ability to overcome technical challenges and exercise sound judgment under pressure
