Job description

  • Support safe execution of hazardous reactions and lab operations.

  • Ensure safe storage, handling, segregation, and disposal of chemicals per SDS/SOP.

  • Identify, assess, and control workplace risks through routine inspections.

  • Manage statutory EHS compliance (GPCB, PESO, Fire, DISH/GFR) including audits, documentation, reporting, and closures.

  • Oversee environmental activities including waste management and ETP/STP coordination.

  • Participate in / lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations with preventive actions.

  • Support fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, mock drills, evacuations, and basic first aid.

  • Plan and deliver EHS trainings, behavioural safety, and awareness programs.

  • Maintain EHS records, permits, and regulatory reports accurately.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to embed EHS into daily operations.

  • Manage routine EHS activities to ensure continuous compliance and safe workplaces.

  • Support team development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job requirements

  • 2-10 years of corresponding experience working in pharmaceutical or chemical companies

  • Master’s in Chemistry or Environmental Science with Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS)

  • Proactive approach to accident handling and risk mitigation.

  • Strong understanding of EHS principles and compliance requirements.

  • Passion for EHS with willingness to learn and grow.

  • Highly organised; able to work independently in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong communicator, team player, and problem solver.

  • Excellent documentation and business writing skills.

  • Positive attitude with curiosity, energy, creativity, and courage to build a strong EHS culture.
